This opportunity will appeal to professionals who are passionate about the success of our Youth in the Central West, Orana, Wagga Wagga and New England regions of NSW. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The purpose of this position is to successfully support and mentor the needs of apprentices and trainees in the workplace in order to assist them to successfully complete their apprenticeship or traineeship. This will be achieved through ensuring the quality implementation of the Industry Specialist Mentoring for Australian Apprentices (ISMAA) program and through driving the uptake of Skillset's mentorship services through a value added sales and individualised "wrap around support" approach. The Mentor will be based at in Bathurst and mentor during the TAFE delivery attendance pattern for apprentices and also where possible meet up with Apprentices away from TAFE as required or at the workplace. The focus of the whole Program is the Construction and Mining industries in Central West, New England, Broken Hill and Wagga Wagga NSW. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Trade qualifications in a Construction trade – Carpentry, Electrical, Tiler, Plasterer etc Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain). Exceptional skills in organisation, planning and communication. Effective general office and computer skills (Microsoft Office, Project, etc.). Experience working with and supporting apprentices and trainees in the workplace. Current Class C Drivers Licence and ability to travel across regional locations. Passionate and committed to support skilling future generations. Ability to work effectively in a small team with a strong commercial focus. Previous experience working with Apprentices in a mentor role would be beneficial.
