Job Description

Skillset is seeking applications for a Biomedical Engineering Apprentice in Orange NSW. The successful candidate will work in the health industry to complete their Certificate III Electronics and Communications.

This is a fantastic opportunity for applicants to join a well-known and prominent organisation whilst entering a full time, four-year placement that will provide both on the job experience and study. You will be allocated a dedicated Skillset Workforce Consultant who will support you through your Apprenticeship and at the successful completion of the role you will graduate with a nationally recognised qualification.

This role is the ideal entry level position for someone looking to pursue a career in Biomedical Engineering, has a keen interest in Technology and seeking to stay local in the Central West. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Learn the foundations and content to develop skills and knowledge used in the Biomedical field
  • Install and perform routine maintenance on medical equipment
  • Assist the team in diagnostics and repairs on key equipment
  • With the team, review drawings and diagrams and organise maintenance schedules
  • Assist in providing a high level of customer service to internal clients
  • Follow WHS Procedures

Qualifications, skills and experience required:

  • Keen interest in technology and engineering
  • Willingness to undertake a Criminal History before commencing
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Committed to the study component of the Apprenticeship  
  • Aptitude for problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt to change and work in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Time management and organisational skills
