Kick-start your career with an Apprenticeship in the Mines! Skillset alongside Peabody is now accepting applications for our 2027 Mobile Plant Apprenticeships. Based at Wilpinjong Mine (approximately 50km north of Mudgee in the Western Coalfields of NSW), apprenticeships will run over a four-year period, commencing 11th of January 2027. About the Role The Mobile Plant Apprenticeship is an entry-level opportunity that provides a strong foundation to start your career in the mining industry. You’ll gain hands-on experience, work alongside industry professionals and earn, while completing a Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology. In this role, you will develop the skills required to maintain, service and repair a wide range of mobile equipment on-site, including haul trucks and heavy earthmoving machinery, playing an essential part in keeping operations running safely and efficiently. About you To be successful, you will: Have a genuine interest in the mining industry and Mobile Plant Mechanics Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, adaptability and attention to detail Be willing to complete a Coal Mine Workers Order 45 Medical Show a solid commitment to Work Health and Safety practices Be at least 18 years old by 11th January 2027 Hold a minimum P1 driver’s licence and have reliable transport by commencement Recruitment Process & Key Dates Applications Close: Wednesday 5th August 2026 Interviews: Week commencing 14th of September 2026 (face-to-face at Wilpinjong Mine) Medical Assessments: Week commencing 5th October 2026 (Mudgee) Start Date: Monday, 11 January 2027 Next Steps: Applicants are encouraged to apply immediately; we will be reviewing applications as they are submitted.
