KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The position of Safety & Return to Work Manager exists in order to provide support and advice to internal and external Skillset stakeholders surrounding Workers Compensation, WHS best practice and Return to Work legislative requirements. You will work across various industries including but not limited to mining, construction, manufacturing, local government and commercial offices. Your focus will include: Coordinate the ongoing development, improvement and implementation of the Work Health & Safety Policies and Management System Work collaboratively to develop strategies that have a long-term focus, based around injury management and injury prevention to achieve safe, sustainable and timely return to work outcomes for injured workers Undertake accident investigations according to the requirements of Skillset’s WHS policies and procedures Manage all facets of Workers Compensation claims from reporting of injury to closure of claim. This will also require contact with providers such as icare NSW and Coal Services Partner with front line leaders to provide safety leadership coaching and mentoring to build capability around hazard identification, risk assessments, reporting, investigations etc Provide adhoc HR, health and safety advice to support and train all team members to build a proactive safe and healthy workplace WE ARE SEEKING INDIVIDUALS WITH A minimum of 5 years working experience focusing on WHS and Return to Work Tertiary qualification or Diploma in WHS /HR Hold a nationally accredited RTW Coordinator Certificate and Accreditation Competency in Workplace Drug and Alcohol Testing, or willingness to obtain Workers compensation experience with an understanding of the claims process A current Drivers Licence and White Card High analytical and auditing skills to evaluate problems and propose solutions BENEFITS Join a supportive and collaborative team culture Diverse role where every day is different Attractive salary package Ongoing, full time work in a regional location The successful candidate will be willing to travel throughout the Central West, be dynamic and flexible in the role to accommodate ever changing environments and situations.
